Please join Broward Health North Broward Medical Center (BHNBMC) as it hosts a free Community Health Fair in honor of Black History Month on Saturday, February 25 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at E. Pat Larkins Center, 520 Martin Luther King Blvd., Pompano Beach. BHNBMC will be providing free carotid artery screenings, blood pressure checks, colorectal cancer screening kits, stroke assessments as well as pharmacy brown bag consults, where the public can bring their medications and ask a BHNBMC pharmacist questions. Free cholesterol and blood sugar screenings will be available to the first 60 people to register. Registration begins at 9 a.m. You must fast 12 hours prior to the screening. Dr. Mayuri Gupta, gastroenterologist, will give a healthy talk on common gastrointestinal disorders and treatments, and Dr. Ridwan Lin, interventional neurologist, will speak on the latest stroke prevention and treatment. There will also be a cooking demonstration and tasting.

Proceeds from this year’s ANF Tour de Broward will fund hospital services at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s fourth floor “Dreams” unit, where children diagnosed with cancer receive care.
